BETTER TREATMENT WITH PET DIAGNOSTICS IN WICKER PARK, CHICAGO

It isn’t possible to know exactly what’s going on inside your pet without the aid of diagnostics. Our tools give us the ability to examine your pet internally without being invasive. Best of all, we can obtain results faster and with higher accuracy. At Companion Animal Hospital Wicker Park, we offer digital X-ray, dental X-ray, and an in-house lab to more fully understand your pet’s health and provide better treatment.

OUR IN-HOUSE LAB

TESTING FOR HEALTHY PETS

We recommend comprehensive lab work for healthy pets because it can screen for subtle health changes better than any physical exam. For your pet to stay healthy, we need to make sure that there aren’t any problems brewing. If we catch anything, we can let you know and offer options for treatment.

Routine tests we offer include:

  • Heartworm testing
  • Lyme disease testing
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal testing
  • Blood chemistry
  • CBC (complete blood count)

SPECIFIC TESTING AVAILABLE FOR SICK PETS

If your pet is under the weather, there is testing available to diagnose their condition. For urgent health problems, we can do testing in-house and get results within minutes. For less-urgent situations, we can send blood, fecal, urine, or tissue samples to specialist labs for in-depth analysis. In these cases, results may take 24 hours or more to be processed and sent back to us.

DIGITAL X-RAY AND DENTAL X-RAY

Digital X-ray revolutionizes traditional X-ray in several ways:

  • Uses far less radiation than film X-ray
  • Allows us to produce X-ray images faster
  • Produces higher-quality images
  • Enables us to quickly send images to other veterinarians or specialists via email
  • Gives your pet more time with you and less time having X-rays taken
  • Makes sedation even less necessary for anxious patients

Our dental X-ray equipment gives us the advantage of treating dental disease and other oral health problems sooner and more effectively. We can view the internal structure of each tooth and see what’s happening under the gum line, where most oral health issues occur.
